ROD HASBROUCK OF THE BAR IN HERSHEY NEBRASKA

In Hershey Nebraska, there sits the best kept secret in the Midwest. A little bar so well known for it's hospitality & welcoming spirit that it can only be called... "THE BAR". if you've ever been there, especially on a night when the band is hoppin' and the crowd is swooning, then you will know just what we mean. If you haven't experienced this place for yourself, then you are depriving yourself of the chance to meet new friends & the fun & amusement that comes from within it's walls. But all of this doesn't just happen on it's own. If it did, then every bar on all the lonesome roads in America would be like this. No, instead, the special reason The Bar in Hershey has this wonderful quality is due to the ownership of Rod & Kathy Hasbrouck!

Rod & Kathy have cultivated an atmosphere based on a simple philosophy of life. Enjoy it, because you never know when the bill comes due. Over the years the couple have hosted many bands, entertainers, cookouts and poker runs, each complete with the down home hospitality that is second to none. In addition to their flair for the good life, Rod & Kathy are more. They are parents, children, siblings, relatives & friends to us all. So, this year, when the tragic news of Rod's passing was realized, a shock wave reverberated through all of us.

Rod lived his life with honor & kindness to all of those around him. He is a proud Marine and served his country with distinction. But this blog is not for us to mourn him. That part of the story has had it's time. Now is the time for celebration & for remembrance. Now is the time to let that spirit live on in all of us. That enduring spirit that says we all can & should make a difference in the lives of those around us. Soulstatic was proud to have their first debut gig at The Bar, and it's only fitting that they return to be a part of the ongoing legacy. On Saturday, November 13th 2021, we will celebrate the life of Rod. Along with his wife Kathy & their good friends in the band Strawbone, the boys in Soulstatic will rock the house in his name yet again. If you have the chance, please attend this great night of fun & music, and do it up the way Rod would've wanted us to, with our foot on the gas, window down & the tunes cranked!
